COMPARISON OF FUZZY AND NEURAL NETWORK USING MPPT SOLAR PV ARRAY

Abstract

ABSTRACT Solar energy is the renewable energy source available on earth. The solar energy is converted into electrical energy by the PV system. But due to the varying environmental conditions, the output is not steady. The Maximum Power Point techniques are used to extract the maximum solar energy. So, we need to design a highly efficient MPPT. In this paper, we do use the ANN and FLC to study the performance and to analyze which technique is more efficient. Both techniques are analyzed in Matlab/ Simulink environment. The simulated result of comparison of voltage, current and power characteristics of both the techniques with respect to time by varying irradiance are plotted. Keywords: PV system, DC-DC Boost converter, Fuzzy Logic Controller, Artificial Neural Network.
