Cloud Computing is a new general purpose internet-based technology through which information is stored in servers and provided as a service and on-demand to clients. It is a set of resources and services offered through the Internet. Cloud services are delivered from data centers located throughout the world. Cloud Computing is a model for enabling service user’s ubiquitous, convenient and on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. General example of cloud services is Google apps, provided by Google and Microsoft SharePoint. Deploying cloud computing in an enterprise infrastructure bring significance security concerns. Successful implementation of cloud computing in an enterprise requires proper planning and understanding of emerging risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, and possible countermeasures. In this we describe the reasons of that why people switch from traditional IT to the cloud and also discuss the characteristics and types of cloud computing. The security for Cloud Computing is emerging area for study.
